This bull continues his dominance of the modern Holstein breed by adding more milking daughters to his proof (6077 Dtrs in 289 Herds), taking his production reliability to 99%. In the UK, Captain has 911 milking daughters and their performance has been incredible, with many herds experiencing The Captain Effect.
Cogent's commitment to the Sexed and Beef strategy has shaped the industry, with conventional semen now becoming a thing of the past for the majority of Holstein producers. Following the August AHDB evaluation run, we are delighted to continue offering sexed semen on all of our available bulls. Renegade son, Sandy-Valley EQ was one of the highlights of the run, seeing an impressive increase in both PLI, Milk, Fertility, Type, Mammary and Legs and Feet to name just a few. EQ has been available for a long time, with calves and youngstock being standout animals in their respective groups on farm. EQ’s paternal bother, DG HS Nixon also saw a welcome uplift across multiple traits, providing another diverse option for UK producers.
Looking outside of the UK, Darth Vader is the No.1 GTPI and NM$ sire in the breed, making him one of the hottest bulls on the planet. UK Legend customers have already been able to take advantage of this elite young sire and his popularity looks set to continue.
