Every proof run brings new rankings and new headlines, but the real story sits deeper than that. It’s about trust — knowing that whatever your system, whatever your breeding goals, you have a partner that can consistently deliver the right genetics.
At Cogent, that’s exactly what we aim to be: your trusted genetic partner. Not just offering standout individuals, but providing a complete, reliable portfolio that works in the real world - across production, health, type, and longevity.

That trust is built on genetic diversity. Across our Top 50 sires, there are 25 unique sires, 18 unique maternal grandsires, and 35 unique sire × MGS combinations. This isn’t progress driven by a narrow pool - it’s a broad, balanced genetic base that ensures sustainable gain, reduces risk, and gives confidence for the future.
It also means we can deliver consistency of product - not just in one trait, but across the board. Whether you’re breeding for production, components, type, or functional, trouble-free cows, the strength of the Cogent line-up is that it delivers in every direction.
NEW GRADUATES

That’s reflected in the bulls coming through. Brummel, Breezer, Mirror, Jazzy, Rhett, and Momentum are pushing profitability while maintaining the style, strength, and dairyness needed for modern systems - proving that performance and function can go hand in hand.
At the very top end, Josh Allen joins Ripcord and Judo in the Top 10 £PLI rankings, reinforcing the strength of the genomic offering. Alongside them sits an industry-leading proven team, with bulls like Dominance, Captain, and Rocky — the highest UK-bred bull on the list — supported by consistent performers such as Sheriff, Helium, Chase, Robin, Prada, and many more.
BREED DIVERSITY

That same consistency is clear across our British Friesian programme. This week sees three new graduates ready for use - Bankhouse Echo, Bankhouse Edward, and Whinnow Ambition - three outstanding bulls that further strengthen an already leading portfolio. Following April’s sire summaries, Cogent British Friesians have performed exceptionally, boasting 5 of the Top 10 genomic sires, 2 of the Top 5 proven sires, 6 of the Top 10 for Milk (kg), 6 of the Top 10 for Fat (kg), and 8 of the Top 10 for Type Merit - a reflection of both depth and consistency across the breed.
And importantly, this isn’t just about Holsteins. This proof sees 38 new sires released across the dairy breeds, underlining our commitment to supporting every system. With 13 new Montbéliarde bulls, 4 Fleckvieh, 3 Jersey, 11 Holsteins, and more, we’re continuing to provide genuine choice and flexibility for farmers.
Because ultimately, it’s not about one bull or one proof.
It’s about having a partner you can rely on - one that delivers the right genetics, for the right system, time and time again.
And that’s where true progress is made
